Service Description

All shore-based personnel engaged in transport of Dangerous Goods intended to be transported by Sea shall be trained in the contents of Dangerous Goods provisions commensurate with their responsibilities. Our Dangerous Goods by Sea course covers the training provisions of the International Maritime Dangerous Goods Code. Relevant provisions of the European Agreement concerning the International Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road (ADR) are also covered. Day 1 Introduction to Dangerous Goods (DGs) General Classification of DGs using the UN System Identification of DGs using the UN System Introduction to the International Maritime Dangerous Goods (IMDG) Code Identification and Classification of Dangerous Goods Day 2 Marine Pollutants Containment Systems UN Packaging Specification Packing Procedures Limited Quantity Provisions Consignment Preparation Marking/Labelling of Packages and IBCs Transport Documentation Mixed Packing and Loading Placarding of Containers, Tanks, and Vehicles Day 3 Overview of UK Road Regulations Exemptions from the Transport Operation The use of the Road Regulations (ADR) in conjunction with other Modes of Transport Segregation Groups and Segregation Provisions The use of Sea Regulations (IMDG) in conjunction with other Modes of Transport


Cancellation Policy

Dangerous Goods Academy – Booking, Cancellation & Waitlist Policy Booking Policy All Dangerous Goods Academy training courses must be paid in full at the time of booking. A confirmed booking secures a place on the selected training course, subject to availability. Delegates will receive a booking confirmation and joining instructions once payment has been processed. Cancellation & Transfer Policy We understand that sometimes plans change. The following terms apply to all cancellations: Transfer to Another Course Date In the first instance, if a delegate is unable to attend their booked course, we will offer to transfer the booking to an alternative training date (subject to availability). Course transfers must be requested at least 7 days prior to the original course start date. Refunds Refunds are available where a delegate chooses not to transfer their booking. Please note that all refunds are subject to a 4% processing fee to cover the cost charged by our payment processor. Refund amounts are calculated based on the notice given prior to the course start date: Notice Period Before Start Date Refund Available Processing Fee Deducted 4 weeks or more 100% 4% of total amount 3 weeks 75% 4% of total amount 2 weeks 50% 4% of total amount Less than 1 week No refund* N/A *Exceptions may be made in exceptional circumstances, at the sole discretion of Dangerous Goods Academy. Requests for exception must be made in writing with supporting documentation. Waitlist Policy If a course is fully booked, individuals may request to be placed on a waitlist. If a place becomes available, waitlisted individuals will be contacted in the order they joined the waitlist. If a place is offered, prompt payment will be required to confirm the booking.
